Both instructors and peers show care by supporting each other, especially when things get tough. Instructors guide us, give advice and check on us while peers help in studies, training, and personal struggles. There’s a sense of family here even with the regimental setting, The environment here teaches us to move as a team. Whether in drills, classes, or daily routines, we learn that no one succeeds alone. We’re encouraged to help, remind, and support each other. This builds a mindset that caring for your coursemates is part of the journey, not just an obligation.
ALAM combines academic learning with hands-on training, like practical drills, simulations, and regimental routines. The academics and practicals build our technical skills, while the daily discipline, teamwork and responsibilities shape our character. The leadership programme gives us exposure to roles, group tasks and decision-making situations. It teaches us to lead by example, stay calm, and act fairly even under pressure. We learn that leadership is not about power, but guiding others with integrity, respect, and empathy.
As an engine cadet, I can really feel the ‘Care’ aspect especially during workshop sessions and hectic regimental days. The instructors always guide us patiently, even when we make mistakes while handling tools or machinery. My coursemates also look out for one another. We share knowledge, help fix errors and motivate each other to push through tough days. That kind of support makes the challenges easier to handle. The structured training at ALAM, especially the hands-on workshops and semi-regimental lifestyle, has taught me a lot. Working with real engine components improved my technical skills, while the discipline and routine built my confidence, time management, and teamwork. It shaped me to be more responsible, not just as a cadet, but as a future marine engineer who can stay calm and focused under pressure.
With a business background, I’ve always been curious about how global trade and supply chains work especially the maritime industry's role. I chose ALAM for its strong reputation, hands-on training, and industry connections. The programme bridges my business skills with real-world maritime operations. Beyond academics, ALAM has taught me discipline, teamwork, and time management. Supportive lecturers and a structured environment have helped me grow personally and professionally, giving me confidence to enter the maritime industry.
I chose ALAM after my parents suggested it, and I’m glad they did. Its reputation for discipline, professional training, and industry recognition won me over. As someone who thrives in a structured environment, ALAM turned out to be the right choice. Although I’ve always loved arts and crafts, I pursued a Diploma in Maritime Business Administration for its real-world potential. The programme opened my eyes to the importance of global trade and shipping logistics. Beyond academics, ALAM has shaped my confidence, time management, and teamwork skills. It’s been a journey of growth, and I’m proud to be part of this academy.
I chose ALAM because it’s at the heart of Malaysia’s maritime industry, known for producing disciplined, industry-ready graduates. With a passion for global trade and shipping, the Diploma in Maritime Transportation and Logistics was the perfect fit. The programme gave me real insight into logistics, port operations, and international shipping laws. More than technical knowledge, ALAM has helped me build soft skills like leadership, teamwork, and time management. It’s a place that pushes you to grow both professionally and personally.
I chose ALAM for its strong industry ties, structured environment, and focus on developing disciplined, career-ready graduates. The Maritime Management programme matched my passion for global trade and port operations, giving me a solid foundation in logistics and international business. Studying here has sharpened my communication, teamwork, and time management skills. Most importantly, ALAM has given me the confidence and clarity to pursue a meaningful career in maritime management.
